Expert Events has worked with The American Ireland Fund, to establish long term planning, implementation, and support of their events, including a golf tournament, 2001-2007 and regional advisory board events to contribute to the organization’s mission. We have also been responsible for the planning and creation of collateral materials, including documentary film proposal for their capital campaign. For more information on events, see here.
Project HOPE Project HOPE asked Expert Events to create a Strategic Plan for its upcoming 50th Anniversary. We met with key administrators to develop the goals and objectives of the anniversary as it will run hand-in-hand with a capital campaign and will include a gala event in New York City, a DVD and commemorative book, corporate sponsorship solicitations and benefits fulfillment, and overall public relations. We are currently working on a 2010 Gala in Washington, D.C. See here for reference contact.
Columbia University Expert Events worked with Columbia University on several cultivation events during the University’s 250th Anniversary. These included targeted alumni receptions prior to commissioned performances of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Company at the historic Apollo Theatre.
We also provided planning and management for a concert/gala dinner for the University’s million dollar donors featuring pianist Peter Cincotti.
Eastern State Penitentiary Halloween Fundraiser
In 1999, Expert Events was contracted to write a strategic plan for the annual fundraiser for Eastern State Penitentiary Historical Site. We were then contracted to design and implement the 15-night show. Our services included designing RFP’s and the bidding process for vendors (lighting, a-v, actors, script writing, security, EMS, etc.) We also managed the flow of traffic through the building and directed ticket sales. In that first year, attendance was increased from 17,000 to 21,500.
In 2000, we assisted with the re-design of the show, where most of the equipment was purchased rather than rented. We created the database for ordering the equipment and maintained the budget, in addition to overseeing all contracted vendors and the ticketing, tour management and crowd control. Attendance increased again to 31,000, garnering over a 125 percent increase in funding over the previous years. Attendance figures for 2001 were over 40,000. Expert Events continues to serve as a consultant for this annual event.
The 50th Anniversary of the Computer – ENIAC Celebration.
Expert Events served on the planning committee composed of 20 individuals representing seven institutions across the City. Expert Events designed and produced an 8-panel historical exhibit that included conducting all archival research, composing photo captions and text. Expert Events also created events for the public display of the exhibit in Philadelphia, Richmond and Pittsburgh. Poster versions of the exhibit were subsequently created for use by IBM in training new employees, and were purchased by the U.S. Army, American University, and Unisys’ Australia office. Expert Events also developed a sponsorship benefits package for use in corporate fundraising to support the celebration’s activities and programs.
Nottingham
The University of Nottingham contacted Expert Events to assist them with a U.S.-based event to launch a capital campaign and celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Drawing from a nation-wide base of alumni from its Junior Year Abroad program, 80 donors and prospects gathered at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. for a presentation and dinner for which Expert Events made all the logistical arrangements, including coordinating travel and accommodations for the Vice Chancellor and his staff, selecting the site and vendors, providing for display/exhibit panels for University information, and stage management for the event.
